I have three major ongoing projects. The first, building off my prior work on welfare municipalization, examines sectoral decentralization within European welfare states, with a focus on education and childcare services. The second project investigates spatial inequalities in transforming societies, both during the period of European industrialization in the late nineteenth century and first half of the twentieth century and during the period of post-industrialization since the 1970s. The third project concerns the postwar political economy of Danish mass transit. The first two projects are based on multi-year original data collection efforts, which are now complete.
